Friday April 18
HENNIKER - John Stark Regional High School music teacher Emily Jaworski will present a classical vocal recital at 7pm at the Henniker Congregational Church. The program will include art songs and arias spanning from the eighteenth to twenty-first centuries, accompanied by Calvin Herst at the piano. The performance is offered free of charge.
HENNIKER - The New England College Department of Theatre will present “Fuddy Meers” Friday and Saturday at 8pm and April 20th at 3pm at the Mainstage Theatre in the NEC Science Building. For tickets, call 428-2485.
HILLSBOROUGH - “The Boys are Back in Town!” The Miner Band returns to perform at the American Legion Post 59. Start the night an all- you- can-eat fish fry from 5 -7pm and Promo from 6-8pm. Open to members and bonifide guests.
STODDARD - The Stoddard Historic Society will hold a meeting at 7:30pm at the Stoddard Town Hall. Francelia Clark, Historian, will give a slide talk on her book Time Travel With Horses. Book & refreshments follow.
WARNER - The Bradford Bog People will play historic and contemporary tunes at 7pm at Mainstreet Bookends for $5.
Saturday April 19
ANTRIM - The Antrim Baptist Church will be holding a Traditional Turkey Dinner to raise missions dollars for the “Samaratian’s Purse” from 5-6:30pm. Adults $8.00, children 5-12 $5.00 family maximum of $30.00.
BRADFORD - Spaghetti Dinner at the First Baptist Church of Bradford, 88 West Main St. Seatings at 5pm and 6pm. Adults $8, children under 12 $5 and children under 3 free. Dinner will be served by the youth of First Baptist and proceeds will benefit the Church Building Fund.
BRADFORD - The Bradford Country Squares will host their monthly square dance at the Kearsarge Regional Elementary School. The dance begins at 7pm with an hour of Fastrack. Mainstream and Plus tips from 8p-10:30pm. Lenny Stratton will call and Phil Catchell will cue. Admission is $7 and $6 for only Mainstream & Plus tips. Call 763-0187.
HILLSBOROUGH - Annual Rabies Clinic from 9-11am at the Hillsboro Fire Station on Central St. $10 per shot (dogs and carts only) given by Dr. Randall Snyder, DVM. Proceeds to the Hillsboro Fire Rescue Squad.
HILLSBOROUGH - “The Homestead by Candlelight”, traditional live music by Old New England will be held from 7:30-9:30pm at the Pierce Homestead.
HOPKINTON - The Little Nature Museum announces their final program of the winter/spring season, “Dig into the Past: The Mystery of the Sites” from 1:30 - 2:30 PM in the Community Room, Hopkinton Town Library, Contoocook, NH. Sheila Charles, historic and archaeological research consultant and Strawbery Banke archeologist, will present a hands-on children’s archeology program. Sunday April 20
ANTRIM - Join the Antrim Recreation Take Me Fishing Club on Sunday April 20, from 4:00-6:00 pm, for a free program on the basics of rod and reel fishing. Topics included will be casting, bait, types of fish, cleaning fish and more. This family workshop is geared to kids ages 6-16, adults are also welcome. After some discussion inside, weather permitting the group will venture out to the edge of Mill Pond and try out some fishing. HILLSBOROUGH - Kids in grades 4-8 will have the chance to see what it takes to be a librarian when “Librarian for an Hour” begins at Fuller Public Library during School Vacation Week (April 21-25). WEARE - A Happy Dog Makes a Happy Owner: Both Ends of the Leash From the Dog’s Point of View – Grade school students and their parents are welcome to a program about dog selection, grooming, and health care at 10:30 AM in the Weare Public Library. ANTRIM - The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at the Antrim Fire Department from 1-6pm. Anyone who is 17 or over and in good health can give blood.

ANTRIM - From noon-3pm, the Antrim Baptist Church will be offering a free hotdog lunch followed by the viewing of “Alvin and the Chipmunks”. After the movie, an ice cream sundae buffet. All children preschool-8th grade are invited to come along for the fun. Please call 588-6614 for reservations.
HILLSBOROUGH - All are welcome to join the Monadnock Herbal Society Wednesday at 7pm at Fox Forest for a talk by Marian Baker on Vernal Pools. Marian Baker, former HS Environmental Educator from Harris Center will share with us about these fascinating salamanders and frogs. This is free to the public, refreshments will be served.

HILLSBOROUGH - Paul Goodwin of UNH will lead the discussion of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie at 7 PM at Fuller Public Library. This will be the first book in the series “Mysteries on Both Sides of the Pond.” Books are available at the library now. Please pick up a copy and plan to attend; everyone is invited. HENNIKER - The Henniker Youth Soccer Organization will host a a referee clinic on May 3 for people who want to obtain a USSF Grade 9 Recreational Referee license. This course will be led by a representative of the NH Soccer Referee Instructional Program and participants must be 12 years of age at the time of the clinic. Grade 9 referees are also eligible to work travel games as an assistant referee only up to U-14. It will be held at the Henniker Community School from 8am-5pm (bring your own lunch). PETERBOROUGH - See 105 Great Things at the Peterborough Historical Society until May 23rd. We selected one thing collected for each year of the Society’s history to explore our history. These 105 things tell us how people live, worked, learned and built a community. Fees are $3/adult, members and children under 12 are free. The exhibit is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10am to 4pm at 16 Grove Street.
CONTOOCOOK - The Slusser Center cooks up a Noon luncheon every Wednesday for a suggested donation of $3.

KEENE - The Keene Senior Center at 70 Court Street is offering a community knitting get-together every Friday from 1-3. This is a drop-in group who knits and crochets, and just enjoys each others’ company. Yarn, needles, hooks, patterns and supplies are provided free of charge to those who knit for charity.
