ANTRIM - The First Presbyterian Church on Main Street will hold its 88th Annual May Breakfast from 7:30-9am. It will be buffet style with scrambled eggs, home fries, pancakes, bacon or sausange, toast, coffee & tea. Come enjoy the food, fun and fellowship! All welcome! $6.00 per person.
ANTRIM - The Antrim Youth Fishing Derby will be held from 8-10 am, rain or shine, at the Mill Pond in Memorial Park. The derby is for anyone who is 15 and younger. Prizes in many categories. Participants should bring their own bait and equipment. The Antrim Recreation Take Me Fishing Club will have some equipment to loan and volunteers on hand, if your child does not have a rod. ANTRIM - Antrim Recreation has teamed up with the Antrim-Bennington Lions Club and the Antrim Police Department for the spring Bike Safety Rodeo. This year, the events include a free raffle for a brand new bike, bike safety checks and tune up tips with Bruce Harrington and Tom Cochran, a bike obstacle course, a bike decorating tent and parade, a bike auction, fee helmets while supplies last, and helmets for sale. The event is designed for kids ages 4 and older. There will be a bike parade for kids 4 and up at 1:30 and a bike ride for kids 10 and older at 2:00. This is a free event that focuses on being an educated and safe rider, as well as having some fun and celebrating the biking season. The bike event is held at the Antrim Town Gym starting at noon.
DEERING - The Town of Deering Cleanup Day is scheduled from 8am until noon. There will be a drop off area at the Town Hall as well as refreshments. Bags will also be available at the Town Hall.
HENNIKER - The Henniker Youth Soccer Organization will host a a referee clinic on May 3 for people who want to obtain a USSF Grade 9 Recreational Referee license. This course will be led by a representative of the NH Soccer Referee Instructional Program and participants must be 12 years of age at the time of the clinic. Grade 9 referees are also eligible to work travel games as an assistant referee only up to U-14. It will be held at the Henniker Community School from 8am-5pm (bring your own lunch). HENNIKER - Henniker the Beautiful Day! The 7th grade and Henniker Recycling Committee will take to the streets to clean up trash revealed by the recent snow melt and would love your help. The event starts at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of the Henniker Grange Hall and plastic bags and gloves will be supplied. If you cannot join us, please reach out to sponsor a 7th grader as this clean up is a fundraiser for their school trip to Washington, DC next year. HOPKINTON - Build a birdhouse at the Hopkinton Town Library at 1 PM. Materials will be provided to make a bird house for feathery friends looking for a new home this spring. WEARE - Creating Gardens Using Containers – Margaret Hagan, Agricultural Educator for the UNH Cooperative Extension will deliver an illustrated talk on container gardening at the Weare Public Library. WEARE - A NH Humanities Council lecture, “Popular Music During World War II: Using Propaganda to Boost Morale,” will be presented at 7pm, at Weare Town Hall. Speaker Calvin Knickerbocker will bring samples of music from hundreds of songs written to unify the country and increase morale both at home and in the military. Hosted by Weare Public Library and Weare Historical Society, admission is free and refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

This is a drop-in group who knits and crochets, and just enjoys each others’ company. Yarn, needles, hooks, patterns and supplies are provided free of charge to those who knit for charity. PETERBOROUGH - See 105 Great Things at the Peterborough Historical Society until May 23rd. We selected one thing collected for each year of the Society’s history to explore our history. These 105 things tell us how people live, worked, learned and built a community. Fees are $3/adult, members and children under 12 are free. The exhibit is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10am to 4pm at 16 Grove Street.
